Estonian Muay Thai Star Dmitry Salamatin Makes His Evecon RAJU MMA Cage Debut

Evecon RAJU

One of Estonia’s brightest and most technically refined stand-up fighters, Dmitry Salamatin, takes the next step in his career as he enters the Evecon RAJU 19 MMA cage on 11 April at Tondiraba Ice Hall in Tallinn.

Salamatin Moves Up in Weight for Evecon RAJU Debut

Previously competing up to 80 kg and widely known as “The Showman”, Dmitry Salamatin is now preparing to step into the cage in the 83.9 kg division. This marks a significant change in weight class for the athlete — one that promises to bring even more power and explosiveness into the cage. Having so far made his mark primarily on kickboxing and Muay Thai stages such as Yakuza Fight and The League, Salamatin has now confirmed with his newly signed contract that he is ready to test his skills at the largest MMA event in the Baltics.

A New Challenge

Representing Garant Gym and coached by Sergei Vinokurov, Salamatin is known for his exceptional composure and strategic approach to combat. His southpaw stance and long reach have caused serious problems for many elite opponents, including in victorious bouts against Hendrik Themase, Manuel Rifa (Switzerland), and Lado Gabisonia (Georgia).

An Accomplished Striker

With a professional record of 10–3, Salamatin’s biggest career achievement to date is winning the European Muay Thai Championship in 2022, followed by a silver medal in 2023. In addition, he has been named Estonia’s Best Muay Thai Fighter on two occasions.

“The Showman” Is Ready

“Combat sports are about constant self-development for me. The Raju cage brings new energy and a different distance, but my goal remains the same — to deliver a technically clean and highly entertaining performance for the audience,” said Salamatin.

Strengthening the Evecon RAJU 19 Fight Card

Evecon RAJU 19 adds an additional professional bout to its usual six-fight lineup. Salamatin’s inclusion adds significant weight to the event, joining a card that already features names such as Maikel Astur and Kristjan Tõniste.

Promoter’s Perspective

“When a powerful striker trades boxing gloves for smaller MMA gloves, an explosive and engaging fight is guaranteed. Spinning attacks and the move to a higher weight class add even more force. And most importantly — just as much as the audience enjoys Dmitry’s performances, Dmitry ‘The Showman’ enjoys delivering them. He simply loves to fight,” said Ott Tõnissaar, CEO of Evecon RAJU.
