An exciting matchup has been added to the Evecon Raju 19 fight card, as Raigo Kutsar, also known as the “Estonian Bear,” will face experienced Polish fighter Oskar “Shrek” Herczyk. Estonian sports fans will remember Herczyk from the previous Raju event, where he gave Maikel Astur one of the toughest tests of his career in the main event.
Herczyk – The Man Who Pushed Astur to the Limit
Oskar Herczyk (9-7) proved at Evecon Raju 18 in September that he is an extremely dangerous and durable athlete. His duel with Maikel Astur went the full distance and ended in a narrow victory for Astur. Now, “Shrek” returns to Estonia with a clear goal – to correct his mistakes.
Kutsar’s Opportunity to Rise Internationally
Standing opposite him will be Raigo Kutsar (3-1), known for his unbreakable willpower and aggressive fighting style. For Kutsar, this is a significant matchup, as a victory over the man who pushed Astur to his limits would considerably raise his stock on the international stage.
Tõnissaar: Two Aggressive Finishers in the Cage
“Herczyk showed toughness against Astur that made more than a few fans genuinely worried. He is strong and very experienced – exactly the kind of opponent Raigo’s fans want to see,” said Evecon Raju head promoter Ott Tõnissaar. “This is a highly exciting matchup – both men strike freely, both have the ability to finish a fight with a single punch, and both like to apply aggressive pressure. If Oskar managed to stay standing against Astur for almost the entire fight, it will now be interesting to see how he handles Kutsar, who will certainly bring wrestling into the equation.”
Kutsar: Nothing Will Be Given on Home Soil
Raigo Kutsar himself is ready for the upcoming battle: “I watched his fight with Maikel and I know exactly how tough he is. But this is my home arena and my crowd. I’m not going to give him anything – in April, Tondiraba Ice Hall will once again see the Estonian Bear in his best form,” said Raigo Kutsar.
