Evecon OÜ, which acquired the RAJU MMA league nearly two years ago and has invested heavily in its development, has announced that the fast-growing fight night series will continue indefinitely.
The decision follows the success achieved during the league’s first stage of development. Each event has brought roughly one third more spectators into the arena than the previous one, while livestream sales have also grown sharply.
When Evecon OÜ acquired RAJU two years ago, the first strategic goal was to take Estonian MMA to a new level through four major showcase events. Three of those four planned events have now taken place, and the numbers speak clearly: audience interest has grown from local to international. Pay-per-view tickets are now being purchased from many more countries and in significantly higher volumes than before. This gave the owners the confidence to move forward with the league’s next stage of development.
“Two years ago, we set very ambitious goals for the Raju league, and today we can confidently say that we are moving in the right direction,” said Karl-Joonatan Kvell, CEO of Evecon OÜ. “The growing interest from the audience and the expanding international viewership prove that there is strong demand for high-quality combat sports content. The decision to continue indefinitely is a natural next step. We want to offer fans world-class entertainment and give both local and international athletes a stable, developing platform where they can test themselves,” Kvell added.
The announcement also sends a strong message to the sporting world. It gives the league’s organisers a much stronger position internationally and creates the foundation for the continued rise of the league’s level.
According to Evecon Raju head organiser Ott Tõnissaar, the owner’s decision confirms that the cooperation so far has been successful and that the joint operating model is now firmly in place.
“During this time, we have learned how to work together. The combination of Evecon’s business experience, RAJU’s sports background, and the Evecon Raju advisory board has created a strong and well-functioning team. Now that the cooperation continues on a new basis, we can direct all our energy toward the league’s next goals,” Tõnissaar explained. “Building an international sports and entertainment event from a small country like Estonia is an ambitious goal, but the results so far confirm that we are moving in the right direction. Estonian combat sports fans have a lot to gain from this, and I believe today’s decision is only the beginning,” Tõnissaar added.
