One of the most successful Estonian MMA fighters and fan favourite Kristjan Tõniste signed an exclusive contract with the Evecon Raju MMA League, which will tie Tõniste’s next matches in Estonia to the biggest MMA event in the Baltics.
This contract means that Tõniste, who has a strong judo background, will continue his athletic journey in the Evecon Raju arena, bringing his impressive throws and measured aggression to the audiences.
Estonia’s First MMA World Medalist and Brave CF Competitor
Kristjan Tõniste finished in 9th place at both the World Judo Championships (2018) and the European Championships (2018) in the category of adults. He is an extremely experienced fighter who has the best record of any Estonian amateur in the international MMA arena: bronze medal at the 2022/2023 IMMAF World Championships – Estonia’s first World Championship medal in the category of adults. He is also the first Estonian to compete in the Brave Combat Federation, the most global MMA promotion in the world, and has also won his first match there.
Exclusive Evecon Raju Contract
“The exclusive contract gives me the certainty that I’ll have two solid matches per year and I can compete in front of my home crowd in Estonia,” said Kristjan Tõniste after signing the contract. “What I value most about Raju are trust and the approach that focuses on the athlete – they keep their promises and they always put the athlete first.”
Busy Training Schedule Before Next MMA Raju Event
Tõniste has a busy training and competition schedule. Before the next Raju event, he will take part in the Brave CF event in Slovenia on 7 June, where he will face local fan favourite David Forster. “Forster is more of a standing fighter and puts you pressure – completely different from the previous Brave opponent who was a pure ground fighter,” said Tõniste about the upcoming match.
Tõniste is currently in a training camp in Finland, and is also scheduled to train in Poland for 10–14 days before the international match.
Kristjan Tõniste: A Leading Figure in the Rise of Estonian MMA
According to Ott Tõnissaar, CEO of Evecon Raju, Kristjan Tõniste is one of the symbols of Estonian MMA fighting today. “His dedication, technical performance and fighting spirit are an inspiration to our audiences and to the next generation of athletes. Tõniste’s exclusive association with Raju shows that this is where the next big stories will be come from.”
The next event – Evecon RAJU 18 – will take place on 20 September at Tondiraba Ice Hall in Tallinn.
